Hostermans celebrate 30th anniversary

Kathleen Malenke and Dr. Glenn Hosterman celebrated 30 years of marriage on Sept. 21.

They met in 1984 in Dunmore, where Glenn was a professor in the Music Department of Marywood College and Kathleen was the Music Therapist at nearby St. Joseph’s Center.

They were married Sept. 21, 1985 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Scranton, by Rev. Klaus Moulzahn. Their honeymoon was in January, 1986 in New Orleans, La.

Glenn is a Professor Emeritus at Lock Haven University, where he retired from the Music Department in 2008 after 20 years. Kathleen works as an accompanist for the Choral Program at LHU. They are both active church musicians, as Glenn is choir director at United Lutheran Church in Lock Haven and Kathleen is the organist there, as well as serving as organist/choir director at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Flemington.

They have four children: Sarah Kirsch (Alex) of Colver; Susie of Erie; Sophie at home in Lock Haven; and Zack, also at home in Lock Haven. They also became grandparents on Sept. 22 of identical twins – Maxwell Alexander Kirsch and Thaddeus James Kirsch.

“Wow, that went fast!” they mused on the 30 years.
