James ‘Butch’ and Anna Knauff Celebrate 40th Wedding Anniversary

On April 16, 1977, Butch and Anna Machak Knauff were united in Holy Matrimony at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Renovo by Father Richard Clark. Butch and Anna are active members in St. Joseph’s and will celebrate their anniversary this Sunday attending Easter mass.

Anna is the daughter of the late John and Ella Machak of Bitumen.

Butch is the son of the late James and Ruth Knauff of Renovo.

Anna and Butch are 1975 graduates of Bucktail High School. They spent their first years of marriage stationed in Germany while Butch was in the United States Air Force.

They are the parents of daughters Marissa Sladek of Hillsborough, N.J., Jessica Ballard of North Bend and grandparents of Joshua Knauff of North Bend. In addition they have three granddaughters and three other grandsons.

Butch is a veteran of the Air Force and the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. He retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in 2007.

Anna is a graduate of Lock Haven University, with a degree in Elementary Education. She has taught in Keystone Central School District at Renovo Elementary School for 28 years. Anna plans on retiring in June.

Butch and Anna are valued members of their community and are a wonderful example of what hard work, dedication, and love can accomplish. They have both left their mark on Renovo, the surrounding communities, and their family, and have selflessly dedicated their lives to making the world a better place.
