Mr. and Mrs. Ron Houser celebrate 50th anniversary

Kathy and Ron Houser celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary trip to Hawii.

Ron and Cathi Vilello Houser celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 25. On that date in 1967 they were married at St.Agnes Catholic Church in Lock Haven.

Cathi is the daughter of the late Gloria and Fred Vilello. Ron is the son of the late Ray and Sylvia Houser.

Cathi graduated from the former Immaculate Conception High School. A non-traditional student, Cathi started college in her 40’s and got her BA in Social Work from Lock Haven University in 1995. She did her internship and was then hired as a caseworker with Clinton County Children and Youth where she worked until her retirement in 2013.

Ron graduated in 1958 from Lock haven High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force for four years, two of which were spent in Japan. He was then employed at Piper Aircraft Corp. for 20 years until the plant closed. He then worked at corning in State college for 20 years, retiring in 2003.

They have two daughters, Rona Houser of Lock Haven and Mandi Houser Puschel (Chad) of Voorhees, N.J.

Cathi and Ron celebrated this big milestone with a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands in September.

Ron enjoys his retirement with many activities such as kayaking, bike riding, exercising and country line dancing. Cathi goes to water aerobics, is captain of the Shamrocks Relay for Life Team in honor of her parents, and follows in her mother’s footsteps with her love of shopping.
