Couple celebrates 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Winner of Oval observed their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1 and celebrated by purchasing a classic 1990 Corvette.
They were married in Trinity United Methodist Church, Jersey Shore by Rev. Klingeman on June 1, 1968.
Mrs. Winner is the former Wanda L. Keen, daughter of the late Elmer E. Keen and Helen M. Keen Martin. She graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1965 and Lock Haven State College. She also received a degree from B&H Accounting in 1972. Wanda was employed by M&T Bank as a customer service representative for 25 years, retiring in 2009. She was also an Avon representative for 35 years, retiring in 2006.
Edward is the son of the late Harry L. and Dorothy M. Winner. He is a 1962 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. Edward served in the U.S. Army during the Dominican Republic conflict. He was employed by West Pharmaceuticals for 44 years, retiring in 2006.
They are parents of three sons, Shane Winner and Colton Winner, both of Oval and Clint Winner of DuBoistown. They have seven grandchidlren.
An anniversary party was held in their honor, hosted by their sons and daughters-in law at the home of Shane and Alanna Winner.
