Gregory L. Thompson
Gregory L. Thompson, a student in the Lock Haven University Communication Program, has won the Excellence in Communication Award. This award, given to non-media Communication senior with the highest grade point average, comes with a $250 scholarship.
Thompson, who has dual majors in Professional Communication and Spanish as well as a minor in Business, is a native of Cooperstown. While going to college full time, he has worked at Vector Marketing in Whitehall and Dunkin’ Donuts in Cooperstown. In addition to serving as a Spanish tutor at LHU, he works as a student manager for the university’s foundation office. Thompson has been on the dean’s list at Lock Haven University three times.
Several students from the area have been recognized as Provost Scholars at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Provost scholar status is achieved when students complete a minimum of 45 semester hours at IUP and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Students recognized are Adam Stuart Wasser of Beech Creek, Jocelynn Nicole Ziegmann of Mill Hall and Kaetha Lucy Gentzel of North Bend.
