Daniel Hendricks of Blanchard graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from Lehigh University during commencements exercises in Spring 2017.

Matthew Bean

Matthew Bean of McElhattan and a student at Penn College of Technology in Williamsport, was awarded a bronze medal in CNC Milling Specialist at the 2017 SkillsUSA Chammpionships in Louisville, Ky. on June 21-22.

More than 6,000 students competed at the national showcase of career and technical education. The SkillsUSA Championships is the largest skill competition in the world and covers 1.4 million square feet, equivalent to 20 football fields or 25 acres.

Meghan Mausteller

The Lock Haven branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) recently awarded the first annual Student Leadership Award to May graduate, Meghan Mausteller. The communication and English major served as the secretary for the AAUW student organization at LHU from 2016-2017 and was selected for her meritorious service to the organization.

Rosalyn A. Nardella

Rosalyn A. Nardella, a resident of Loganton, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester at Alfred University (AU). She is a senior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Lycoming dean’s list

Courtney Sampson

Courtney Sampson of Howard has been named to the dean’s list at Chatham University School of Arts, Science & Business for the Spring 2017 term. To be eligible for dean’s list, students must carry a GPA of at least 3.5 and complete a minimum of 12 credits for a letter grade. Courtney is majoring in Biochemistrys.

Joseph M. Manganiello

Joseph M. Manganiello was named to the Magna Cum Laude honor roll at Parkway South High School, Manchester, St. Louis County, Mo. He is the son of Joseph J. Manganiello and Susan M. Mullen-Manganiello of Ballwin, Mo. He is the grandson of Jeanne Mullen and the late Professor Robert Mullen of Lock Haven. His great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hanna also of Lock Haven. Joseph’s summer plans include lifeguarding at the Manchester, MO Aquatic Center and a visit to Lock Haven.

Amel Langston

Amel Langston, of Lock Haven, received a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies at Quinnipiac University’s 86th undergraduate commencement exercises.

Quinnipiac conferred 1,709 bachelor’s degrees across six schools and colleges – Arts and Sciences, Business, Communications, Engineering, Health Sciences, and Nursing. The ceremonies were held on May 21 and 22 at the TD Bank Sports Center on the York Hill Campus.

Paige Haight

Paige Haight, daughter of Kristi Haight and Chad Haight of Jersey Shore, has been selected for the Sutton Scholars academic achievement scholarship program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

A senior at Jersey Shore High School, Haight qualified for the Future Business Leaders of America state leadership conference during her junior and senior year. She was a member of Antes Fort United Methodist Church, the tennis team and the softball team. She volunteers for Ride Along program for Jersey Shore Area Ambulance Service. She plans to major in nursing at IUP.

Lycoming College grads

The following area students were among graduates receiving degrees at Lycoming College’s 169th commencement ceremonies on May. 13 — Cydnei Crust of Bellefonte; Hannah DiMattia of Renovo; Carissa Guthrie of Jersey Shore; Morgan Kunes of Beech Creek and Sydney Mackey of Beech Creek.

Abigail Heggenstaller

Abigail Heggenstaller has been named to the dean’s list for the sping 2017 semester at the University of Vermont. Heggenstaller, from Loganton, is majoring in Environmental Sciences in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources.

Grove City dean’s list

The following students were named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2017 semester at Grove City College: Jess Book, an Exercise Science major, is a 2016 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School and daughter of Brian and Carol-Beth Book from Bellefonte; Savannah Weaver, a history major, is a 2014 graduate of Centre County Christian Academy and is the daughter of Steven and Lana Weaver from Bellefonte; Adam Campbell, a Physics major, is a 2014 graduate of Jersey Shore Area Senior High School and is the son of Dean and Michelle Rhodes from Jersey Shore Maggie Manchester, a Psychology-BS major, is a 2015 graduate of Williamsport Area High School and is the daughter of Dr. George and Brenda Manchester from Linden; Ellen Turner, a Mechanical Engineering major, is a 2013 graduate of Central Mountain High School and is the daughter of Dr. Thane and Rachel Turner of Lock Haven.

Erin Reese

Erin Reese, of Lock Haven, i a neuroscience major at Susquehanna University, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. A 2016 graduate of Central Mountain High School, she is the daughter of Dr. Robert amd Jacqueline Reese.

Mansfield President’s List

Kutztown dean’s list

Megan Ruane of Bellefonte is among graduates who recieved degrees at Bucknell University commencement on May 21.

Bucknell dean’s list

Nicolas Carpenetti

Colonel Hugh White-Colonel John Chatham Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented the Good Citizen Award to Central Mountain High School Senior Nicolas Carpenetti for demonstrating the qualities of Dependability, Service, Leadership and Patriotism.

Nicolas is the son of Stefano and Alison Carpenetti of Lock Haven. His future plans include college in the field of business.

South Hills grads

Local students among the class of spring graduates from South Hills School of Business and Technology include:

r Amanda Hassell from Beech Creek received the Associate in Specialized Technology degree with honors in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. She has also completed the requirements and is certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).

r Laura Johnson from Mill Hall earned the Associate in Specialized Business degree in the Administrative Medical Assistant area.

r Kelsey Moore from Bellefonte received a diploma with honors in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Professional Plus, a program for those with a previous Bachelor’s degree.

South Hills dean’s list

Allison R. Probst

Allison R. Probst, daughter of Sam and Donna Probst of Lock Haven, was named to the dean’s list at Clarion University for the Spring 2017 semester. Allison earned a 4.0 grade point average.

She is a graduate of Central Mountain High School in 2013 and is senior at Clarion, majoring in business management and accounting/finances.

Sarah Reeder of Lock Haven was among students at Misericordia University who qualified for the dean’s list with a 3.55 grade point average or higher for the Spring 2017 semester.
