Madden – Daily

Kelly Kathleen Madden and Stephen Patrick Daily were united in marriage in the presence of family and friends on Saturday, August 3, 2013. The 1:30 p.m. ceremony was officiated by Rev. Neil Dadey at Our Lady of Victory Church in State College.

Kelly is the daughter of Albert and Angela Madden of Lock Haven, and the granddaughter of Margaret Madden of Ranshaw.

Stephen is the son of Eugene and Marie Daily of Glenside.

The maid of honor was Katie Madden of Lock Haven, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Rachel (Kramer) Williams of Westerville, Ohio; Colleen (Knarr) DeFonzo of Bellefonte; Jamie Yuppa of Nutley, N.J.; Aziza Eastwood of Brunswick, Ohio, and Erica Friel of Philadelphia, friends of the bride, and Ashley Shamansky of Columbus, Ohio, and Erica Madden of Muncy, cousins of the bride.

Reese and Rowan Luber of Odenten, Md., and Adele Maynor of Duryea, all cousins of the bride, served as flower girls.

The best man was Michael Daily of Philadelphia, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Brian Pagano of Havertown; Geoff Dodd of Perkasie; Marc Gauthier of Hyattsville, Md.; Hiran Ratnayake of Newark, Del., and Justin Gagliardi of Scranton, friends of the groom, and David Manning of Philadelphia, and Billy Donahue of Huntingdon Valley, cousins of the groom.

Declan O’Brien of Philadelphia, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a romantic beaded lace gown with a cathedral-length train and veil. Kelly carried an elegant bouquet of varying shades of pink roses with hints of pink hydrangeas and pink lissanthus, wrapped in pieces of her mother’s and grandmother’s wedding gowns.

The full service Catholic mass featured scripture readings from A.J. Madden of State College, brother of the bride, and Brian Manning of Havertown and Kevin Manning of Philadelphia, cousins of the groom. Kathleen Lane of Moor Park, Cal., aunt of the bride, and Michael Madden of Turbotville, uncle of the bride, served as Eucharistic ministers. Bearers of gifts were Kathleen Lane, aunt of the bride; Charles Scarantino of Raleign, N.C., uncle of the bride, and Frances Donahue of Glenside, aunt of the groom.

The wedding ceremony was followed by an evening dinner and dance reception given by the parents of the bride at The Nittany Lion Inn in State College. A rehearsal dinner, given by the parents of the groom, was held at the University Club.

The newlyweds traveled to Italy and Ireland for a two-week honeymoon and now reside in Philadelphia.

Kelly is a 2005 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Psychology and a 2010 graduate of Villanova University with a Master’s degree in Communication. She is finishing her Doctorate in Communication at the University of Maryland and works as a professor at The College of New Jersey.

Stephen is a 2001 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. He is employed by Bryn Mawr Communications in Wayne as news editor.
