The following exhibits will open on May 1.

LINDA HALE IN

THE POTTERY GALLERY

Linda Hale’s first journey into hand building with clay quickly led to incorporating other materials with the sculpture.

“Clay, as a natural substance combined with man-made objects reflects the interface we have with nature and our existence,” Hale said. “I especially enjoy adding “found” objects that have been cast aside but also reflect another era and the touch of our predecessors.”

Hale’s works can be viewed from May 1 through 26 on the second floor of the gallery.

COOL BEANS GALLERY

Kim Gates Flick and Mary Vollero will be showcasing their works in the Cool Beans Gallery at Cool Beans Coffee & Tea, 141 W. High St., Bellefonte, from May 1 to June 30.

Flick is a mixed media artist with a passion for creativity. She promotes and demonstrates sustainable studio practices, eco-friendly products and artistic environmental projects.

Vollero will be showcasing photographs taken in and around Harriet M. Rosenberg’s home, just after Harriet passed away in January.

Cool Beans Coffee and Tea is open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

HORNER AND HAMMAKER

IN THE PRINT GALLERY

Brenda Horner and Dave Hammaker will be showcasing their work in the Print Gallery from May 1 to June 30.

“My work has been shaped out of a love of nature and developed through an intuitive gift for capturing nature’s ordinary moments,” Horner said.

She frequently combines her watercolor works with expressive quotations or meaningful messages hand-lettered in calligraphy to convey a special insight, mood or emotion.

Hammaker has been creating images of our natural world for over 40 years.

His subjects have ranged from the wilds of Patagonia to the baron tundra of the Artic to the lush forests of Pennsylvania and to the ancient civilizations of China.

The following art exhibits will be featured in the museum beginning May 3.

MARKIEVICH IN THE

COMMUNITY GALLERY

Eric Markievich will showcase a variety of his works on the second floor of the museum.

Markievich enjoys experimenting with medium and letting the work take on an altered direction from the original idea inception, letting it grow within the creative process.

His work can be viewed until May 26.

WEISS IN THE

PHOTOGRAPHY GALLERY

Dan Weiss will be featured in the museum’s photography gallery.

The series of photographs showcased were taken during the week of Talvipaivanseisaus, Finnish for winter solstice.

The photographs show various settings including the River Aura in Turku, the Christmas Market in Helsinki and on the island of Suomenlinna.

Weiss’s work can be viewed until May 26 on the second floor of the museum.

COOPER IN THE SIEG GALLERY

Alecks Cooper will showcase his paintings on the first floor of the museum in the Seig Gallery.

“Painting has showed me the door to value myself and my emotions,” Cooper said. “I see it to be the perfect task to keep my thoughts, fears and doubt in my head at bay.”

Cooper has always been able to make something out of nothing and uses his art to express words which he can’t say using his mouth alone.

His artwork will be on display until May 26.
