Weis Markets employees and members of local organizations participated in a ribbon cutting, marking the official opening of the remodeled store in Jersey Shore on Thursday. The remodeled store includes a new decor, expanded organic, natural and gluten free section and a new beer and wine cafe, according to Weis Director of Public Relations Dennis Curtin. The store’s beer and wine cafe opened on April 3. It offers 474 imported and domestic wines including some from Pennsylvania vineyards, as well as a chilled section. The cafe also offers 605 varieties of domestic, imported and craft beer including those brewed by New Trail Brewing, which is based in Williamsport. This is Weis Markets fourth beer-wine cafe in Lycoming County. It now operates 58 beer-wine cafes in its Pennsylvania stores. At the ribbon-cutting, Store Manager Steve Haegele presented donations to Jersey Shore Athletics Department in the amount of $500; New Love Center Food Pantry in the amount of $500 and $250 each to Jersey Shore Independent Hose Company and Citizen’s Fire House.
