Hawbaker raises $105,500 at annual golf tournament
STATE COLLEGE — Celebrating over 27 years in existence, the Glenn O. Hawbaker Charity Golf Outing raised $105,500 this July to benefit eight well deserving non-profits. Since its inception, the tournament has donated $1,486,000 to 53 organizations through out the state of Pennsylvania.
Over 200 golfers and 100 volunteers participated in the tournament at the Penn State Golf Courses.
The recipients of this year’s funds were Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger, Emily Whitehead Foundation, Jana Marie Foundation, LeRoy Heritage Museum, Inc., The Lock Haven Area YMCA, Park Forest Preschool, Penns Valley Youth Center, and Snow Shoe Ambulance and Rescue Service. Many from each organization were present to volunteer and help carry out the activities of the day.
Founded in 1952, Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. was known as small excavation company with the goal to build, serve, and advance local communities. Over six decades later, GOH continues to serve customers with an array of services including asphalt paving, heavy highway and bridge construction, as well as engineering design services.
