Workshop in Bellefonte to help businesses tap govt. marketplace

BELLEFONTE — Businesses will have the opportunity to gain basic principles they need to do business with local, state, and federal governments in a free one-on-one workshop conducted by SEDA-Council of Governments’ (SEDA-COG) Procurement Technical Assistance Center staff.

The Government Contracting Express Program will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority, Interpretive Center Building, 253 Transfer Road, Bellefonte. For directions, visit www.centrecountyrecycles.org/directions.

SEDA-COG’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center staff will hold individual 1.5-hour sessions to answer questions and offer key tips on how to start or expand a business’s government contracting efforts.

Topics include:

– Getting started in government contracting

– Locating bidding opportunities

– How to read a solicitation

– How to submit a bid

– Valuable Internet resources

– Small business programs

– Certification and registration requirements

– SEDA-COG Procurement Technical Assistance Center services review
