Flemington First plans rally

FLEMINGTON – A fall preaching rally will be held at Flemington First Church of Christ starting Sunday, Oct. 23.

Buzz Roberts will preach that morning at 8:45 a.m. A ham dinner is planned for 5 p.m. that day as part of the rally, and Ryan Perish will preach at 7 p.m.

The preaching schedule for weekdays is:

r Monday, Oct. 24 – Don Crane at 7 p.m., followed by snacks and coffee.

r Tuesday, Oct. 25 – Bud Yoder, followed by the Men’s Homemade Pie Contest with a prize for “Best Presentation.”

r Wednesday, Oct. 26 – Bobby Hart, followed by homemade ice cream and cake.

Even Ground to sing

BEECH CREEK – Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., will host Even Ground in concert tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Even Ground, from the Harrisburg area, ministers through Southern gospel music. An offering will be received for the group.

‘Tailgate Party’ planned

WOOLRICH – Woolrich Community United Methodist Church will hold a “Tailgate Party” after Sunday worship tomorrow. Come dressed in your favorite team colors or jersey and bring a tailgate-style snack to share. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided.


Knit n Run motorcycle ride is Oct. 22

MILL HALL – The third annual Knit n Run from Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church will be held Sunday, Oct. 22.

The Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle Club will join the Prayer Shawl Ministry of the church at 10 a.m. for refreshments.

All the items the Prayer Shawl knitters and crocheters have been working on throughout the year will be displayed for everyone to see. They include prayer shawls, lap robes, hats, scarves, mittens, infant sweaters and comfort dolls.

The motorcycle club will then gather these items and head out on the Knit n Run, distributing them as they go to area nursing homes, personal care homes, and hospitals and as far away as Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Everyone is invited to join in the joyful event at the church at 111 Main St.

Blanchard youth to have Fall Fest

BLANCHARD – The Blanchard Church of Christ youth will have their Fall Fest at Leitzell’s farm Sunday, Oct. 16 from 5 to 9 p.m. The event will include homemade food, games, a hayride and a bonfire.
