BPW names Pearl Patterson Girl of Month

JERSEY SHORE — The Business and Professional Women’s Club Girl of the Month for November is Pearl Lee Patterson, daughter of Sarah Patterson of Jersey Shore.

Pearl’s activities include the following: One year –Track, High School Democrats Society, ROCAPA; Two years — National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, School Musical, Spectrum Club; Three years — Model UN, FBLA, Constitutional Convention; Four years —     Treble Makers, Mosaic.

Pearl has served as the secretary of Art Honors Society, the High School Democrats, and the Spectrum Club.  She has also served as president of Choir and Spectrum Club.  She is the Treasure of Model UN, Constitutional Convention, and the English Honors Society.  In addition, Pearl works part-time at Sunflower Cafe, Greenaway Farms, and the Jersey Shore Community Pool.

Throughout her high school career, Pearl has received numerous accolades.  She was awarded the best delegate award in Model UN, Student of the Month in May, lettered in cross country, track and field, and choir, and has had her personal writings published in Mountain Home. Additionally, she was a Poetry Out Loud finalist and placed second at FBLA Nationals.

Pearl enjoys piano, backpacking, and playing racquetball. She plans to attend Penn State University or Smith College to major in psychology.
