Community Thanksgiving services listed

Whole communities are invited to gather for special Thanksgiving services. Those that have been announced are listed here.


The annual Lock Haven community Thanksgiving service will be hosted by the Salvation Army and will be held Sunday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. As has been the custom, the One-Gallon Challenge offerings will be presented at this service. Choir rehearsal will begin at 5 p.m. and a pumpkin fellowship will be held at 6 p.m.


The Nittany Valley community Thanksgiving Eve service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Lamar United Methodist Church. The offering and canned goods will be divided between area food banks.


The Penns Valley annual community Thanksgiving service will be held at Faith Alive Fellowship, 4394 Penns Valley Road, Spring Mills, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Many pastors from the area will participate. Those who would like to sing in the community choir that evening may come at 6:30 p.m. for practice. Refreshments will follow the service. A collection will be taken that evening for the Penns Valley Hope Fund.


Trinity United Methodist Church at Greenburr will host the Sugar Valley community service at 7 p.m. Wednesday. More information is available by calling 570-725-3388.
