Skylar Brion is Lions’ Club Citizen of Month

JERSEY SHORE — The Jersey Shore Lions’ Club Citizen of the Month for November is Skylar Alan Brion son of Westley and Brandie Brion of Jersey Shore.

Skylar’s activities include the following: Two years –National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society; Three years —    Homecoming Committee, Tennis; Four years — Basketball, FBLA, Distinguished Honor Roll, Outdoor Club.

Outside school, Skylar works part time at Phil-It Up Drive-In and at the Jersey Shore YMCA.  In addition, Skylar is an avid volunteer and has offered his time and support to the Jersey Shore Elementary 5K Color Run, the Susquehanna Health Sharing with Sharati 5K Run, the Central PA Food Bank Drive hosted by the PCT Youth Leadership Program, the YMCA Youth Basketball Program as a coach for first and second graders, and as the YMCA Youth Basketball referee, timekeeper, and scorekeeper.  He has also volunteered his time as the Powder-Puff Football coach for his Junior class.

Skylar has been a consistent VIP Award recipient at the Jersey Shore Area High School.  He has also competed in the Lycoming College Competitive Chemistry Exam and has represented the high school at the Penn College Youth Leadership program. Additionally, Skylar has lettered in basketball and received the Scholar Athlete Award for excellence in academics.  He plans to continue his successes throughout his senior year.  Skylar is also a regular member of the distinguished honor roll.

Skylar enjoys fishing, kayaking, Penn State football and basketball games, and hiking.  He plans to attend Penn State University, Susquehanna University, or Lycoming College, majoring in a science-related field.
