Genealogical society to host Pennsylvania Archives speaker

MILL HALL — The Clinton County Genealogical Society will host Jonathan R. Stayer, supervisor of reference services at the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg, at its next meeting, Tuesday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at the LDS Church, 8 Noll Drive (off Route 64), Mill Hall.

The public is welcome to attend and there is no charge.

Stayer has been employed as a reference archivist at the State Archives since 1985 and has been engaged in personal genealogical research for more than 35 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from Messiah College and a master’s degree in American Studies from the Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg. He is president of the South Central Pennsylvania Genealogical Society, York, and he served on the boards of the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania and of the Palatines to America, Pennsylvania Chapter. His current research interests are the Stayer and Gundrum families, Pennsylvania’s Civil War conscientious objectors, and Camp Security, a Revolutionary War prison camp in York County.

The Clinton County Genealogical Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that exists to help the public research family history. It is not affiliated with any religious organization, and invites the public to attend its meetings which are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month at the LDS Church location.
