JERSEY SHORE — Thirteen members of the Jersey Shore Senior High Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) were inducted into the National Business Honor Society — Pennsylvania FBLA Chapter during a ceremony held recently at the school.

Membership in the National Business Honor Society (NBHS) recognizes FBLA members who pride themselves on outstanding effort, leadership potential, and academic achievement in business, computer and information technology courses at the secondary school level. To qualify, FBLA members must be juniors or seniors; have an overall cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and a 3.5 overall cumulative GPA in their business, computer, and information technology courses; show leadership potential through service as a chapter officer, committee leader, or other participation in chapter activities; and have clearly defined career objectives.

The Jersey Shore FBLA members who applied and were inducted were: Luke Bischof, Janel Eck, Beatrice Ferguson, Haylee Fishel, Sophia Hayes, Brianna Heller, Averie Hess, Pearl Patterson, Allison Schweikart, Hannah Stroble, Audrey Wacker, Kendra White, and Ashlyn Wool.

During the ceremony, the students received a set of blue and gold honor cords to be worn at their high school graduation. The honor cords were presented by senior high FBLA adviser Mrs. Dolly Oden, FBLA President Beatrice Ferguson, and senior vice president Paige Haight.

Also recognized at the induction were 2016 members Connor Anderson, Morgan Bauder, Jacob Butzler, Emma Frazier, Wyatt Grieco, Mariah Guiswite, Paige Haight, Gage Meixel, Elizabeth Osborn, Alex Tobin, and Lily Wasson.

NBHS members were previously recognized at the FBLA State Leadership Conference held last month, with a membership certificate and honor society pin. Their names were posted on the PA FBLA website at www.pafbla.org.

Jersey Shore FBLA displays an NBHS perpetual plaque in the business department wing of the school. This year’s NBHS inductees continue a tradition of excellence with the other Jersey Shore inductees since 2006.
