Mill Hall Kiwanis meets at Sweet Shop
This photo shows members of the Kiwanis Club of Mill Hall, probably in the 1950s. Kiwanians are, from left, Conley Hayes, Earl Long, Roy Bryerton, Doyle Bitner, Lee Bowman, Harvey Conn, Loudon Kyle, Forrest Cross, Paul Dietrich, Sam Cross and Ken McCloskey. The meeting was held at Harold Bartholomew’s Sweet Shop on Main Street, Mill Hall. The building was later demolished and is now a vacant lot between Flowers by Monica and the parsonage of the Bald Eagle United Presbyterian Church. At the time, Long’s Farm Supply was located where Monica’s is now. The lectern, bell and gavel seen in the photo are still in use. The club has met at various places over the years and now meets in the Presbyterian church’s fellowship hall, next door to where it met at the time of this photo. We thank Bob Jackman for providing this information.
