Happy

Travelers to meet

LOCK HAVEN — The public is invited to attend the Pennsylvania Happy Travelers next meeting, on Oct. 12.

The club’s trips have been planned for 2018. As the tours are confirmed, flyers will be available, and reservations will be accepted. The destinations include: Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard, Sept. 10 to 14; Charleston, S.C. to Myrtle Beach, which is a holiday show trip, Nov. 25 to Dec. 1; Vegas, the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam in April; and Foxwoods Resort Casino, R.I. in June. A cruise is planned in August to New England and Canada.

Anyone with a love of travel and an interest in group travel may attend the meeting to learn what the club has to offer — a way to meet new people while seeing the country at affordable prices.

The meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. the second Thursday of the month in the first-floor conference room of Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing (Lock Haven Hospital’s former ECU). No membership is necessary to attend meetings or travel with the group. For information regarding the club and trips, call Dolly Confer at 570-748-1982 or plan to attend one of the club’s monthly meetings.

The club also plans to meet for informal lunches at noon Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Main Street Grill and Tuesday, Oct. 24 at The Edge Bar & Grille. There is no meeting on Oct. 31, since it is the fifth Tuesday of the month.

Yesterday, the club hosted Wendy Diaz, a Rotary International exchange student, who gave a presentation on her home country of Peru.
