Bring your dancing shoes

STATE COLLEGE — A “Valentine FoodRaiser Dance” is planned Saturday, Feb 10 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 780 Waupelani Drive Extension.

Admission is free with a nonperishable food donation to the Centre County Food Banks.

Live music will be provided by the UU Jazz Band and friends, a 16-piece big band playing swing, rock, Latin, funk. All ages are welcome.

‘The Story of Babar’

BELLEFONTE — The Nittany Valley Sym-phony will present a family concert, “The Story of Babar,” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28 in Bellefonte Area High School Theatre.

Poulenc’s “The Story of Babar, the Little Elephant” is on the program, as is Stravinsky’s “Circus Polka” and “Entrance of the Gladiators” by Fucik.

The concert will feature cellist Ben Deighton, the winner of the Ann Keller Young Soloist Competition.

Helen Manfull is the narrator.

Riverdance coming to CAC

WILLIAMSPORT — Riverdance – The 20th Anniversary World Tour will appear at the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1.

This tour features new costumes, new lighting, new projections and the addition of a brand new number, “Anna Livia,” with the female members of the Irish dance troupe in an a cappella hard-shoe number.
