Valentine for JS

A Valentine’s dinner with a silent auction will be held Saturday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, corner of Allegheny and Glover streets, Jersey Shore. This is a fundraiser for Transform Jersey Shore Area 2018, a local ministry that helps local neighbors each summer with home repairs and more. Bring your Valentine and enjoy an evening out with a dinner of varied pastas, live dinner music and a silent auction, while helping raise funds to serve people in your community.

Spaghetti dinner

The Jersey Shore American Legion will hold a home-cooked spaghetti and meatballs dinner Sunday, March 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. The meal includes salad, bread and dessert. Take-out is 50 cents extra. Proceeds will help local veterans in need. Refreshments may be purchased at the bar. Come out and help those who have served for our freedoms.

Military museum

The Pennsylvania Military Museum, 51 Boal Ave., Boalsburg, opens its season on Saturday, March 10 with a screening of Frank Capra’s “Why We Fight” series on World War II at 10:30 a.m. and free admission on Sunday, March 11 beginning at noon. Museums across the state will have special events on these dates for Charter Day Weekend, commemorating King Charles II granting a charter to William Penn in 1681 which founded Pennsylvania.
