Astronomical Fridays at LHU start Feb. 16

LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven University will hold the first of three Astronomical Fridays events of the spring semester at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16.

Participants will observe the moon, planets, stars, star clusters, stellar nurseries, stellar corpses, and galaxies through the university’s 12-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope.

Observing sessions are open to the public and will take place at the Stern Athletic Complex along Farrandsville Road. The complex is 1.1 miles above the Jay Street Bridge on the northeast side of the river, adjacent to the West Branch Soccer Fields. If snow makes it inaccessible, the sessions will be at Jack Stadium

Future Astronomical Fridays dates are Friday, March 23 and Friday, April 20.
