This photo was taken at Farrandsville Veterans Camp on Aug. 23, 1941. Katie Diack Lary is smiling at the camera after shooting mark and tying with Dr. McGhee for high score. They earned a score of 17 out of a possible 50. (And Katie wrote on the back of the photo, “Too bad. Such marksmen.”) Also seated at the picnic table are, from Katie’s left, Joe Watson, Joe Lary, Dr. McGhee, Darr McGhee Luckenbill, Dr. Jusick, and Katie’s dad, Mr. Diack.
