Ryan Stratton is Lions Club Citizen of the Month
JERSEY SHORE –The Jersey Shore Lions’ Club Citizen of the Month for January is Ryan Michael Stratton, son of Dave and Karyn Stratton of Avis.
Ryan’s activities include the following: Band, Orchestra, Keystone Strings, FBLA, IT Club, Red Cross Club, all for one year; National Honor Society for two years; SADD, TSA, VEX Robotics, soccer, Youth Development Tast Force, all for three years.
Ryan is a diligent student who is involved in many organizations in the high school. He has served as president of SADD, VEX Robotics Club, vice president and treasurer of TSA, and co-chair of Youth Development Task Force.
Outside school, Ryan is an active participant in events led by the Youth Development Task Force such as attending conferences, making short movies, and helping in the Little League World Series. Additionally, he hosts a radio show for Bear Country Radio. He volunteers annually for the Christmas Wish program and the Liberty Train program. Ryan helps within the district as well by teaching third grade students about basic computer coding. He is employed at Weis Markets and participates in a cooperative education program with First Quality Tissue in Lock Haven.
Ryan has received numerous accolades throughout his high school career including many in VEX Robotics. He also has stellar placings in TSA and FBLA competitions. In addition, he is a gifted musician who qualified to play in the Keystone Strings, while attending Keystone Central School District. Ryan is also a regular member of the distinguished honor roll.
Ryan enjoys working, reading, playing soccer, and working on his robotics projects. He has been accepted to the Rochester Institute of Technology to pursue a degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technology.
