Calling all new beginning birders

The West Branch Bird Club invites the public to a free program for new and beginning birders on Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. at the Wayne Township Landfill Administrative Building, 264 Landfill Ln., McElhattan. They will show and discuss resources, both print and electronic, which aid new birders with identification, help birders find good birding locations, and make birding more enjoyable. Please park in the lot behind the building and use the doors adjacent to the lot.

Fish fries

Flemington First Church of Christ offers fish fries in Lent, slated for Fridays, March 9, 16 and 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. The menu includes battered fish fillet, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, dessert. The meals benefit HOPE Missions West.

Indoor yard sale

The youth group at Echo Hope Assembly Church is hosting an indoor yard sale and soup sale Saturday, March 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church at 320 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall (across from Curt’s Smokin’ Ribs). The sale promises “lots of stuff and lots of fun.” Come see what you might find.
