Sierra Bloom receives Mapstone award

Sierra Bloom, 2017 Central Mountain High School graduate and Ronald and Anna Mapstone Award winner, came home from Mansfield University recently and caught up with her Keystone Central Foundation mentor, Karen Probst. Bloom, who is studying social work at Mansfield, received the Ronald and Anna Mapstone Award, which was created by their son, Jeff Mapstone to honor his parents for their hard work, and their emphasis on education. The annual award is administered by the Keystone Central Foundation to give the student the support they need to be successful in the transition from high school to college. Sierra maintains a 3.74 GPA, works at Weis 20 hours per week, and attends school full-time. With the Mapstone Award, Sierra has been able to purchase a new computer and supplies she needs to maintain her grades and independence while away from home. Above, Probst gives Sierra a portion of her award for her second semester at Mansfield University. The Keystone Central Foundation has provided students from Central Mountain and Bucktail with over $45,000 annually in senior awards, and also supports students and faculty through Teacher Mini-Grants and Special Project Funding opportunities.
