Steve Bower exhibit opens Friday

WILLIAMSPORT — Steve Bower is the featured Bald Eagle Art League artist at the Genetti Taphouse Gallery during March.

An opening reception for the exhibit, titled “Here, There and Everywhere,” is planned tomorrow from 5 to 8 p.m.

Bower has been a practicing artist for 45 years, working primarily in water-based media. He began in 1973 as a full-time fine artist, maintaining a studio in Wellsboro until 1988 when he started teaching. He taught in Southern Tioga School District and at Mansfield University as an adjunct professor specializing in drawing and water-based media.

He retired in 2015 and has since maintained a studio with his wife, Rita, at The Pajama Factory here.

Over his career, he has exhibited in numerous one-man, group, and juried shows including those sponsored by the American Watercolor Society, Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, Watercolor USA, and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.

The exhibit is on view through April 3 during normal Taphouse hours: 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4:30-11 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

The gallery is in the back room of the Taphouse in the Genetti Hotel and Suites, 200 W. Fourth St.
