Having a Ball in a Barn
Central Mountain Girl’s Turned Out in Their Finest On This Special Night

Central Mountain
This year’s senior ball took place in a barn.
It was the first year the school decided to try something new and have the ball somewhere other than the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center at LHU.
The barn, owned by Jeff and Christina Frank, is a historical 4,800 square foot barn located near Lock Haven on Island Road.
Lots of teachers helped with preparation and many came and chaperoned the dance. The decorations for the dance were a mixed, rustic and elegant, and it couldn’t have been any better.
The barn had many lights and white ball decorations hung from the ceiling upstairs. Downstairs had some chairs to sit and socialize, along with a table with some tasty snacks like chocolate covered strawberries and cookies. They also had a small stand with some fancy juices in an area on the dance floor.
Hearing from some of the students that attended this year senior ball the thoughts of it being at the barn were mixed.
Tess Gallagher a Senior of Central Mountain didn’t really like the idea of it being at the barn. ” I felt like I was going to fall threw the floor, it wasn’t built to have that many people in it.”
Skylar Smith thought it was nice but she felt there was too many underclassmen attending the senior ball. But she really enjoyed the freedoms of being able to walk around and cool off. Skylar also really enjoyed the looks of the barn and how it was decorated.
Madison Myers, another senior, had lots of fun but didn’t really care for the music that was played. She would have preferred more throwback music.
Most students liked the change of the atmosphere and liked the idea of it being something new, but there is still some changes some students would make for years to come just to make it more enjoyable.
It was nice for how much the teachers were involved in the preparation and decorating. They put lots of time and effort into it and it defiantly paid off. You could really tell that they wanted it to be an amazing night for the seniors.
And it was!
