PHOTOS PROVIDED

Lock Haven University held the 7th annual Trash to Treasure fundraising sale in early June in the East Campus Gymnasium. In addition to the sale raising more than $7,300 for the Clinton County United Way, 482 food items were donated to the Life Center and 480 food items were donated to the Clinton County Women’s Center. Many of the food items were donated by students moving out of the dorms, and would have been thrown away if not for the fundraiser. Miller’s Furniture, Mill Hall, donated dorm collection boxes. Fifteen Lock Haven University employees gave up their lunch time or hours after work to help sort, pick up donations, or assist the day of the sale. The total hours donated by this group exceeded 150 hours. Six United Way board members also donated time the day of the sale and one also volunteered to help sort items over the month that donations were collected. All unsold items were given to the Salvation Army in Lock Haven. Shown above are the Lock Haven University employees who volunteered their time during the fundraiser.
