LOCK HAVEN — Kim Lathan, care manager/assessor with STEP Office of Aging, was named the 2017-18 STEP Employee of the Year.

Working out of the STEP Clinton County Community Center, she has provided “person-centered service” for two years in the STEP Office of Aging. She has been a strong advocate in getting needed services for older adults, according to the agency. She also gives guidance to newer caseworkers on how they might obtain needed services for customers, and goes above and beyond when it comes to advocating for older adults.

STEP, Inc. is one of 1,100 Community Action agencies nationwide. Founded in 1966, the agency recently celebrated 50 years of partnerships and service to the community. It is formally known as the Lycoming-Clinton Counties Commission for Community Action (STEP), Inc. Its mission is to engage diverse individuals, families, and communities in the pursuit of social and economic success. The agency accomplishes this through five “pathways to success” — early learning, housing options, workforce development, community collaboration, and independent living.
