RENOVO — The 2018 Flaming Foliage Committee has been extra busy this year planning their 70th festival weekend and inviting past queens to be part of the anniversary celebration.

Several past queens have already registered for the parade and Queens’ Saturday luncheon and Saturday evening banquet.

The committee received information in June that the first Flaming Foliage Queen in 1949, Sherrill Hiller Rittenmeyer will be attending. Rittenmeyer was a queen’s judge for many years.

The committee would like to see more floats for this special weekend parade. Anyone who wishes to join the line of march can get a form www.pastateflamingfoliagefestival.com or at the FFF Information Center. No special theme is required. Cash awards will be given. There are two entry levels being small and large floats. Businesses organizations and individuals are invited.

A special Kick Off Day for the community is being planned sometime in September. More information will follow.

The Flaming Foliage Festival Committee’s next fundraiser is Sept. 9, with Cow Puckie Bingo and ham pot pie sale.
