LAURA JAMESON/THE EXPRESS

A large crowd turned out for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of Downtown Lock Haven’s newest business — “It Is What It Is.” The unique shop has a variety of items not usually found in stores, from sweet treats to dog toys. Owner Art Sanders also owns the business next door — Sanders Window Fashions, the oldest business on Main Street. He and his wife Bonnie talked about opening this kind of business for years and after Bonnie died last year, Art made it a top priority. From left, are store employee Kim Bower; Downtown Lock Haven board member Mike Hoy; Marianne Olivo, a local artist who was key in creating the art concept for the business; Lock Haven University President Robert Pignatello; Art’s son-in-law Larry Miller; his daughter Fabre Sanders; Bud Yost, (back); Art Sanders; store employee Jim Miller (back); Lock Haven Mayor William Baney; Clinton County Economic Partnership CEO Mike Flanagen;, Clinton County Commissioners Jeff Snyder and Pete Smeltz; Clinton County Economic Partnership Tourism/Chamber Director Julie Brennan; Downtown Lock Haven Inc.
