Free quilting workshop
Clinton County Piecemakers Quilt Guild will hold a free workshop on Saturday, Sept. 22, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Mill Hall United Methodist Church.
Two serious fall foliage hikes are scheduled Oct. 14 in the Tiadaghton State Forest. Hikers interested in the traditional Slate Run Ramble should meet at the DCNR parking lot at Tomb Flats around 8:45 a.m. and be prepared to depart for the 8.5-mile hike, led by Ben Sands, at 9 a.m. Bring a lunch or snacks and plenty of water. A shorter hike of 3.5 miles will be led by Rich Hill on the Bob Webber Trail beginning at 10 a.m. from the Ross Run parking area, with hikers meeting at 9:45 a.m. For more information, contact the Tiadaghton State Forest at 570-753-5409 or FD12@PA.GOV.
Return of the Donuts
Fresh, homemade doughnuts are back at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. The donut sales will resume Thursday, Oct. 18. Call the church at 570-398-2913 (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) to place an order and give your approximate time of pick up. Walk-ins are welcome until all the donuts have been given homes.
Food bank hours
The New Hope Food Bank has changed its hours. The food bank is open every second and fouth Friday of the month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
