LOCK HAVEN — Ralphie, Lock Haven University President Robert Pignatello’s dog, will host a “Yappy Hour” dog walk and social at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25.

The walk is open to all dog owners as well as dog lovers.

It will begin at the riverwalk beach pavilion and conclude at the Brown Family Patio at the Durrwachter Alumni Conference Center (DACC) on the campus of LHU.

“The ‘Yappy Hour’ is just one of many events to come, that will bring LHU faculty, staff and students together with members of the community for fun, socializing, and making new friends– human and canine,” Pignatello said. “Dog owners and dog lovers alike are all welcome to join Amy and me on our walk and on the Brown Family Patio for refreshments.”

The Brown Family Patio at the Durrwachter Center is named for Dr. John and Jane Brown, the parents of LHU trustee Margery Krevsky Dosey.

PHOTO PROVIDED Each canine guest will be given a special LHU dog treat at “Yappy Hour.”

“My parents were avid dog enthusiasts,” Krevsky Dosey said. “My father was a sportsman and always had a hunting dog, usually a German short-haired pointer. They both loved and had several Brittany spaniels who were members of family. They would love knowing their patio was a gathering center for fellow canine lovers.”

Owners will be treated to cookies and punch on the patio, and canine guests will receive a special LHU dog treat and fresh water. LHU dog items, including bandanas, magnets, and collars also will be available for purchase following the walk.

Future Yappy Hours will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30 and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27. In the case of inclement weather, the events will be cancelled or rescheduled.
