Scouting BSA Boy Troop 54 from Beech Creek-Blanchard is working on its Snow Sports merit badge. Some of the requirements are learning the hazards you could encounter in the winter, administering first aid, the procedure for reporting snow-related accidents, learning the international trail-marking system, taking a two-mile hike on snow shoes and others. Shown above The troop is sponsored by the Beech Creek American Legion and meets Mondays at 7 p.m. at the Liberty Sportsman’s Club. Above, one of the scouts works on snow shoes.
