MADISONBURG — Krislund Camp and Conference Center has opened summer camping registration that includes several family-friendly options for residents of central Pennsylvania. The camp, located in Madisonburg just east of State College, offers special camps for families and grandparents as well as price breaks and scholarships.

Families who want to share in the summer camp residential experience can choose from housing options that include hotel style cabins and modern lodges. They spend three days participating in typical camp experiences such as swimming, hiking, ziplining and swinging on the giant 65-foot tall swing.

In addition to residential week long camp for youth who have completed 2nd through 12th grades, Krislund also offers mini camps (3 days) to introduce kindergarteners through second graders to an overnight summer camp experience.

“Camping is a significant expense for many families and we strive to make camp affordable for everyone,” Kim Bosse’, the executive director of Krislund said.

There are several ways for families to save money as they register for summer camp at Krislund. Families of full week residential campers, get $25 off on each registration of siblings for a similar camp. Also, if families need scholarship assistance, they are welcome to call the camp and inquire about getting some financial help.

Families can also save by bringing a friend to camp. If a camper has come to Krislund previously for a full week of camp, they can receive $50 off their registration if they bring a friend who has never been to Krislund before.

Finally, this year, if families call Krislund to register by April 15 and mention this article, they will receive $20 off their Family Camp registration.

All programs have a core activity of sharing and growing in a faith journey.

Campers at Krislund can choose from three different tracks each week which include adventure challenges as well as creative and stem activities. Further, campers can choose special camps such as water sports, woodworking and culinary skills.

For those teens in 10th -12th grades who might like to be camp counselors in the future, Krislund offers a two-week Counselor-in-Training program.

Prices for Krislund camps vary depending upon length of camp and the activities involved. Interested persons can learn more at www.krislund.org or by calling Krislund at 814-422-8878.
