Flag Disposal Service

LOCK HAVEN –The 40 & 8 Voiture local 903 Clinton County will dispose of unserviceable flags at a ceremony at 6 p.m. June 12 at the Lodge, 1098 Renovo Road.

The Jersey Shore Honor Guard will participate and state Rep. Stephanie Borowicz will be guest speaker.

The club requests all flags for disposal be dropped off by noon on June 11. The public is invited to attend this service.

The 40 & 8 is a military service club which draws its origin from World War I veterans. Its programs include child welfare, nurses training scholarships, Special Olympics, POW/MIA programs, youth sports and more.

Flag Day service

Jersey Shore Elks plan Flag Day service

JERSEY SHORE — The BPOE 1057, Jersey Shore, will be hosting a Flag Day service at 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, at the lodge, 203 N. Main St., Jersey Shore.

This service pays tribute to the history of America’s flags, with the display of various flags from the original Colonial Stars and Stripes to today’s modern flag. The history of each flag is discussed as it is paraded into the lodge room.

This service is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend to pay tribute to Old Glory.
