Visit the Bossert Gallery at Ross Library

The theme for this summer at Ross Library is Space. In the Bossert Gallery in July, entries having to do with Space that were submitted by community members formed the exhibit. The Simpsons made a visit to the Gallery in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Homer’s first trip to space. For the month of August the work of budding stars of the art world enrolled in Summer Youth Programs at Ross is on display. Come visit the Gallery! The works are remarkable!

DID YOU KNOW?

Aborigines believed the koala controlled the rains. …and if they treated its body with disrespect, there would be drought and their tribe would suffer.

——

When you spot a koala, just stand still and watch it. Try not to frighten it (a pair of binoculars will be useful), because koalas have acute hearing. Noises such as cracking twigs will disturb koalas so be quiet.

——

Kangaroos can only be found in two areas of the world — Australia and New Guinea.

——

What odd thing does a platypus do with its tail? It uses it to store fat, it uses it as a rudder when swimming, it uses it to move soil when burrowing.
