Back to the grind

For those who enjoyed the long weekend, it’s back to work! Time to get up early and get ready for the return to the daily grind. Hopefully the day runs smoothly and the weekend comes before you know it. And for kids out there, it’s time to get back to school and back to learning. Have a great week everyone!

Reading under the lights

Reading Under the Lights at Dwyer Field at Bucktail High School, 6:30-7:30 p.m.Sept. 9 Everyone is welcome; all ages. Bring a blanket and bring a book. There will be refreshments, prizes information booths and guest readers.

Library seeking donations for book sale

Annie Halenbake Ross Library is seeking donations of books for their annual book sale, which will be held September 18 – 21 on the patio of the library. Most types of books accepted–antiques, paperbacks and hardbacks. Please do not include dictionaries, encyclopedias or Bibles. The library looks forward to rehoming your unused books! Ross Library is a PA Forward Gold Star Library and United Way partner.

Little Libraries

The Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven encourages residents to scan the many books located in their Little Red Libraries in Triangle and Hanna parks. There are a variety of books for youngsters, teens and adults to choose from. You can take a book and leave another in its place or simply take a book and bring it back. You do not have to replace a book that you take. Downtown Rotary is also in search of children’s books. Anyone who wishes to donate a book can simply leave it in one of the libraries or call Downtown Rotary President Diahan Claghorn at 814-571-5324.

Pickle-Ball

Pickle-Ball is offered at the Lock Haven Area YMCA every Tuesday and Thursday, from 1 to 3 p.m. The program is free for members and $5 for non-members. This is an increasingly popular sport. Come out and see what it is all about. No equipment is needed. For additional information, call the YMCA at 570-748-6727.
