Shoe Drive fundraiser

Nittany Greyhounds is holding a Shoe Drive Fundraiser through Sept. 30 to help retired racing greyhounds find forever homes. Collection boxes for gently used and new shoes are located in Calico Creek Feed and Pet in Mill Hall, the Nittany Greyhounds Kennel near Port Matilda, The State Theatre, the State College YMCA and Petco in State College. Fall Festival at First Church of Christ

First Church of Christ, 330 N. Vesper St., Lock Haven will be hosting a fall festival on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and will include food, games, prizes, a bounce house, a bike give away and Kid Notes Performance at noon. Everyone is invited to attend.

Fort Antes Historical Days

Fort Antes Historical Days will be held this week… Sept. 12, 13 and 14… in downtown Antes Fort, 2 miles south of Jersey Shore off Route 44. There will be something for everyone, young and old, with truck and tractor pulls, daily entertainment, great food, and much more. The fun begins at 4 p.m. Sept. 12, noon Sept. 13 and 9 a.m. Sept. 14.

Watch out for the little ones

School is now in session in all area schools and motorists are asked to watch out for the youngsters waiting for school buses in the early morning. The mornings are often foggy and as the seasons change, it’s still dark when some boys and girls walk to the bus stops. So, slow down and remember they are out there.

Election is near

If you haven’t looked at the calendar lately, you probably don’t realize that the General Election is less than two months away and there are some very important offices on the Nov. 5 Clinton County ballot. It’s never too soon to start checking out the candidates for county commissioner, prothonotary, Lock Haven mayor and more.
