Students make Jared Boxes for hospitalized children
Sixth grade students at Central Mountain Middle School recently completed a Jared Box project as a 9/11 National Day of Service project. Students and their families donated items to be packed into shoe boxes and given to children at Mount Nittany Medical Center. The goal was 75 boxes, but the students ended up making 85. The students chose the age and gender of a child they would like to prepare a “smile” for and then they carefully selected the items of their choice from the donated items. Each box was decorated with stickers and finished off with a hand written note to the recipient.
