UPMC Susquehanna celebrates employee giving

PHOTO PROVIDED Susquehanna Health Foundation staff recognized employees participating in the Tree of Life Club, an employee giving program for UPMC Susquehanna, with a special chili cook-off event featuring local competitors Herman & Luther’s, The Brickyard Restaurant & Ale House, and Aramark. Foundation and UPMC Susquehanna’s corporate staff donned themed T-shirts, decorated the hospital cafeterias, and helped serve the meal to employee donors at the special event.

WILLIAMSPORT — Over the past 10 years, UPMC Susquehanna employee service partners have given back over $2.5 million to the communities and patients they serve through the Susquehanna Health Foundation Tree of Life Club (TLC). In recognition of their generosity and support, over 1,700 current TLC contributors were asked to be the judges for an inaugural chili cook-off event featuring local competitors Herman & Luther’s, The Brickyard Restaurant & Ale House, and Aramark.

“I give to the Tree of Life Club because I want UPMC Susquehanna to be known for providing exceptional care,” said Patsy Miller, Director of the Birthplace at Williamsport Regional Medical Center. “UPMC Susquehanna uses the best technology, in the best facilities, by the best people. Giving is a sign of my love of humanity and desire to leave a legacy of generously supporting health and healing right here in my community.”
