UPMC first Place Net 2017

Thirty-one teams and sponsors raised more than $146,300 to purchase CAREpoint workstations and equipment at the 36th annual UPMC Susquehanna Invitational Golf Tournament this summer at the Williamsport Country Club. First-place net score winners are, from left, William Manos and Zack Prowant, tournament chair Brent Fish, Dave Roche and Tom O’Connor. Over the past 36 years, the tournament has raised more than $2 million to benefit UPMC Susquehanna. Proceeds from the tournament will contribute to the purchase of CAREpoint – a sophisticated medical command receiving station designed to better coordinate hospital and pre-hospital care in rural communities. The system allows Emergency Medical Service (EMS) staff to transfer information to hospitals quickly and securely so a doctor can “see” a patient before he even gets into the emergency room and can better prepare for his arrival. Especially in the cases of trauma, heart attacks, strokes and burns, this can translate in saved time – and lives. For additional information, visit UPMCSusquehanna.org.
