Jersey Shore pool gets Stop the Bleed donation

PHOTO PROVIDED

The Jersey Shore swimming pool will have another safety tool this summer, following Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital’s donation of a bleeding control station. Chelsea Reichard, left, RN, inpatient operations manager at Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital, presented a bleeding control station to Bonnie Massersmith, right, program coordinator for Jersey Shore Borough. Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital will provide training to pool staff on how to properly use the kits in the bleeding control station and on how to effectively control or stop blood loss, a leading cause of death during traumatic injuries. Bleeding control stations include eight bleeding control kits, first aid equipment and a portable stretcher. Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital previously donated bleeding control stations to the Jersey Shore Area School District and the Walnut Street Christian School.
