Zach Hanna to run for county coroner

LOCK HAVEN – Local funeral director Zach Hanna has announced that he will run for the position of Clinton County coroner in the May primary.

Hanna now serves as office manager and deputy coroner under Clinton County Coroner Donald “Woozy” Walker.

He completed the Pennsylvania Coroners Basic Education Course and Examination this past year.

Hanna feels that he not only has the experience and education in understanding death investigations, but has the training and compassion to aide families as they go through a very difficult time in their lives. He has had the opportunity to work with and develop relationships with local law enforcement, the district attorney’s office, emergency personnel and many of the great people of Clinton County.

In addition to Hanna’s deputy coroner responsibilities, he has worked at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc. and Moriarty Funeral Home and Crematory for the last decade. He is currently employed there as a funeral director. Hanna is also a small business owner, starting Clinton County Memorials six years ago.

Hanna is a graduate of Central Mountain High School. He attended Lock Haven University before transferring to the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science where he graduated with a funeral directing degree.

He is a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Lock Haven Son’s Of Italy, Pennsylvania Association of Notaries, Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association and Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association

Hanna resides in Woodward Township with his wife, Michele, and their two dogs, Bailey and Bria.
