A Great Island Christmas

Members of the Great Island Presbyterian Church began their Christmas celebration Monday, by setting up the traditional Christmas tree on the front lawn of the church. The volunteers included, Gabi Voucolo, Aaron Schultz, Braydon Brungard, Jim Evans, Justin Somers and others. The tree, which is a good 14 feet tall and 22 years old, was nurtured to its height by John and Joyce Gummo, who have donated trees to the congregation for four of the last five years. Church officials said anybody who wishes can hang an ornament on the tree, which will be lighted in the very near future.
