Area Christmas parades start this weekend
From staff reports
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a special parade with a special guest.
Christmas parades begin today throughout the area… all of them bringing Santa Claus to town to the delight of boys and girls.
r The 38th annual Mill Hall Kiwanis Christmas Parade will take off at 1 p.m. today.
The line-up begins at noon at the upper end of town at the former First National Bank parking lot and proceeds down Main Street, ending at Mill Hall Fire Hall. Immediately following the parade, Santa will be accepting the first 150 visitors up to 10 years of age with treats at the fire hall.
r The Flemington Hi-Neighbor Committee’s annual Christmas Parade kicks off at 3 p.m. Line-up begins at Allison and High streets across from Burger King.
In Renovo, this year’s Christmas parade is set for Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Bucktail Alumni Band will be marching in the parade this year and will bring Olaf along to wave to all the area children. The band will remain at the Flaming Foliage Lot and will play some favorites for the crowd. Olaf will also be there for parents to take their kid’s pictures with him.
Immediately following the parade, Santa will listen to Christmas wishes from the kids. There will be hot chocolate and cookies.
The Haven Holidays Christmas Parade in Lock Haven will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, with line-up at 5 p.m. at Henderson and Main streets.
As always, this parade of floats, marching units and more will bring Santa to his hut in Triangle Park, and immediately following the parade, the hut will be open for the first time this season.
