The city reminds residents that sidewalks and footpaths covered with ice or snow must be sprinkled with salt, cinders or other anti-skid material. And, when the wintry stuff accumulates to an inch or higher, we have 24 hours to shovel it off or possibly be fined. Don’t shovel or blow snow from sidewalks or driveways into the street, though. Not only is it dangerous to traffic, it can also result in a fine.
