Halloween parade winners listed

LOCK HAVEN — A large crowd was entertained by over 100 entries at Saturday’s Halloween Parade in Lock Haven. Creative costumes stretched for blocks as local folks competed for cash prizes awarded by the Lock Haven Fire Department. And there was no lack of candy.

While the crowd enjoyed refreshments after the parade, judges Tracey Marcum, Kathy Shoemaker, John Gradel, Katie Malizia, Brady Carnahan and Ken Starr had their hands full narrowing so many imaginative entries down to 16 winners.

Winners are:

r Best Appearing Entry – Haven Hillbillies: Don Kuhns, Lance and John Ohnmeiss, Larry Frey, Georgene and Olivia Spotts, Linda Hawkins, and Averi Maihle.

r Best Appearing Business/Organization – Co2: Hanna Smith-Williams, Katie Glunk, Alyssa Rhea, Your Carriage Awaits.

r Best Appearing Float — First Place, Embellish Salon; Second Place, John Deere Hay Ride.

r Best Appearing Group–First Place,  Scooby-Doo: Amber, Evan, Nolan and Landon Cross; Second Place, Alice in Wonderland: Alex and Aurora Copenhaver, Jarron and Sarah McCloskey, Connie Eckholm.

r Best Appearing Vehicle — First Place, Bob and Jane Roller; Second Place – Bryer-Tech truck.

r Funniest — First Place, Head in a Jar: Mason Berry; Second Place, Wednesday Adams: Stephanie Wilson.

r Scariest — First Place, Guy with Noose: Corey Bartholomew; Second Place, Ghoul Car: Heather and Elyssa Martin, Gabriel and Steve Cohen

r Cutest — First Place, Chicken with Eggs for Sale: Jessica Poorman, Allyson Mikitko and Jetta Miller; Second Place, Ghost Busters: Stephen and Oliver Summers, Gena Wilson.

r Most Original – Cabbage Patch Kid: Emma Phoenix and Brittany Sanders.

r Judges’ Award – Angel: Maia Crowell.

Cindi Blazina had the winning ticket for the Family Fun Night drawing. Her prize included dinner, movie passes and bowling at Clinton Lanes.

Participants from the John Deere Hay Ride entry were not identified following the parade. Someone from that group is asked to call Bob Neff at the Hand-in-Hand Hose Company at 570-748-6462 to claim the prize.
