Temporary closures at Snow Shoe Rest Areas on I-80
SNOW SHOE — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has scheduled temporary closures for the I-80 Snow Shoe rest areas in Centre County. The closures are necessary to perform heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) work and electrical work in the rest area buildings. These will be full closures, with the entrance and exit ramps gated shut. Each closure will last about two weeks.
The westbound rest area at mile-marker 146.5 will host work first and is scheduled to be closed from yesterday, April 24 through Friday, May 5.
Work at the eastbound rest area at mile-marker 146 will take place once the westbound work is complete. The eastbound area is scheduled to be closed from Monday, May 8 through Friday, May 19.
Motorists travelling I-80 will be alerted to the closures through dynamic message signs along the roadway.
Hosler Corp. of Berwick, PA is the contractor for this project.
